The Sakamoto Dojo involves both children and adults in skill, fitness and character development through the sport of Judo.
Sakamoto Judo Dojo nurtures the development of healthy, empathic, knowledgeable, skilled, and giving citizens through the vehicle of the “Gentle Way” of judo.
New Second Location! We are proud to announce we have a second dojo located at Claude Garton Public School. This dojo will host judo classes for students ages 8 and up. Please contact Dojo Shu Norm Sakamoto at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Sensei John Lafroy receives first annual "The Judo Way Award" from Dojo Shu Sakamoto. The annual award is giving to a Sakamoto Judo Dojo judoka exhibiting strong moral character on and off the tatami, also showing good power and great beauty in technique. Congratulations John!
Registration for the 2016-17 season will take place on Wednesday, September 7 and Thursday, September 8th at the dojo. Sign-up for the season to learn an Olympic combat sport, get fit, make new friends and have fun!

In July, we held our annual Judo Day-Camp for kids. Participants spent 5 days at our dojo learning judo, playing sports and just plain having fun! The activities are planned and lead by our more experienced junior judoka. Check our website in the spring of 2017 for next year's dates if you are interested in attending this fun, activity filled week.
